This is the story of my abortion. I am not attempting to sway opinions either way, to influence or make any specific point about abortion. I'm neither pro-choice nor pro-life, I'm simply one woman who felt she had no other choice. This is for Sophie, the baby I was unable to keep and will forever miss, and for others in my position just trying to sort it all out, to heal.

I am so sorry you went through this. It doesn't matter what my beliefs are on this subject, but just know that I am praying for you and John. I am praying for your spiritual/emotional/relationship healing. I am 36, and know how hard marriage can be, I've been married since I was 24. I have had a D&E at 17 weeks along because my baby died at 16 weeks, but I have had the same feelings you have. I did have good care for the surgery though, and that made all the difference.
I hope my story can help you in some way.
